The Way School of Ministry (WSM)

“Equipping this generation in the knowledge of God through day and night prayer”

The name of WSM is rooted in Acts 19. Early Christianity was known as the Way among the nations. As the apostle Paul was ministering in Ephesus for 3 months, many in the city were moved to hardness and disobedience to his message. Paul leaves the masses and moves the disciples to the school of Tyrannus for 2 years. Acts 19 reveals to us that out of this school of discipleship and ministry the Word (declaration) and power (demonstration) of God went forth throughout Asia.

Acts 19-20 gives us insight into the ministry of Paul in Ephesus for 3 years (Acts 20.31). It is recognized among scholars and theologians that Ephesus was the revival center of the early church. The church at Ephesus was rooted in the knowledge (Eph 1.17) and love (Eph 3.16-19) of Jesus by way of prayer. This is how they dealt with the warfare coming against them (Eph 6.10-18). They also were filled with the Holy Spirit by way of holiness and worship (Eph 5.1-19).

An admonition to us that should cause our hearts to tremble is how Jesus spoke to this glorious church in Rev 2.1-7. The church at Ephesus had many things going well for them but Jesus said He had this against them, “you have left your first love”. At the end of the age, many will fall away and be mislead because lawlessness will increase and most people’s love will grow cold (Matt 24.10-12). Many will be always learning but not able to come to the knowledge of the truth (II Tim 3.7). We desire to see a generation whose hearts are alive and burning with revelation and love for Jesus Christ (Luke 24:32).
